FY 2026 Municipal Budget
Preparation of the FY2026 budget is underway. This is an interim budget covering the months of January 2026 to June 2026 as the Town transitions to a fiscal year. These meetings are open to the public.
Note that the mil rate projection is solely an estimate based on current valuation and the requested budget. The mil rate is only final when the Assessor commits the taxes. The mil rate and tax billing will be based on roughly half of the normal annual budget.

FY 2027 Municipal Budget
The preliminary FY 2027 budget will be delivered to the Budget Committee and the Select Board on February 1, 2026. The schedule for budget meetings will be set at that time. This will be the first full fiscal year budget and will cover the months of July 2026 through June 2027. There will be a separate Town Meeting in April to vote on this budget. More information will be published as it becomes available.
The Committee hears presentations from the department heads on their proposed budgets, and outside agencies requesting town funding. The Committee then makes its recommendations to the citizens, which are included in the annual Town Meeting Warrant.
This is an eleven member Committee, each member serving a three year term with two alternates each serving a one year term. The first meeting is in December to begin reviewing departmental budgets for the upcoming year.
The Committee currently has two openings for alternate members.
