Recreation Committee

 

The Recreation Committee meets periodically with the Parks and Recreation Department Head and Assistant Director to review and discuss issues relevant to programming, facilities, and budgeting priorities for the Parks & Recreation and Community Center.  They are solicited for ideas, act as a sounding board for the general public and may be requested to participate in screening and interviewing candidates for job vacancies.  Members must be Farmington residents that are approved by the Board of Selectmen.  They may be asked to volunteer at Recreation Department events or functions. Several Townspeople who are interested in youth sports, particular activities at the Community Center or Hippach Field, or just to advocate for a strong, municipally funded leisure services department have served many back to back terms on this committee. 

This is a five member Committee serving a three year term.  The Committee meets on an as-need basis.

The Committee currently has an opening for a new member.
