fiscal year changes

At their October 14, 2025, meeting, the Select Board voted to move the Town of Farmington to a fiscal year of July 1 - June 30 beginning on July 1, 2026. There will be a six-month interim budget covering January 1 to June 30, 2026, with a payment due in early May. This budget will be stripped of capital and include only necessary operating expenses for the six-month period. Separate Town Meetings will be held for the 2026 and new FY2027 budgets in March and April, respectively. To assist in this transition, the Board also voted for a 0% interest rate on late payments for the interim 2026 tax bill. Going forward tax bills will be split into two payments, fall and spring, starting in fall of 2026. For more information on the transition to a fiscal year budget, follow the link below.
