Patrolman Dennis Pike

Dennis graduated from Farmington High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years. After returning he attended the University of Maine at Farmington for about two years, it was Farmington State Teachers College at the time, but when offered a job as a police officer from the town manager, Dennis took the opportunity in 1966. Dennis was an integral part of starting the bike safety inspections for area children which began in 1973. He has been a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration weather observer for over 50 years. He also served his community by becoming a town selectman in 1998 and served for 15 years until 2013. Dennis, after retiring from the Farmington Police Department, went on to serve the Franklin County area as Sheriff. Dennis served the Farmington Police Department for 23 years and 46 years total in Law Enforcement before officially retiring.
